September 2026

Four college students from Stanford, MIT, UPenn, and UIUC will share their experiences with the college application process and life on campus during a virtual panel on Oct. 17.

This seminar is an opportunity for current seniors or parents of seniors going through the college application process to learn about first-hand experiences. Each panelist will briefly share their path, followed by a moderated Q&A where audience members can also submit their own questions.

Speakers Alexa Zhang (Stanford University), Leanne Fan (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), William Zhang (University of Pennsylvania) and Remy Xie (University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign) are all alumni of the Asian American Academy of Science and Engineering’s West Junior Board and camp.

Panelists include both freshmen and sophomores, so attendees will hear about both the most recent admissions process and what they have learned in college. They have details and journeys to share about building a strong profile, choosing where to apply, writing essays, and making decisions.

The event will be held online via Zoom. Registration is free at tinyurl.com/collegepanel2026. For questions or more information, visit the AAASE West Junior Board website at https://www.aaasejuniorwest.com/.
