It is 1:17 AM and I have been writing the same story for the past three weeks. I am writing it right now: splayed horizontal over my bed, one knee up to support my laptop, trying to collect my thoughts, pawing at my keyboard in a half-delirious stupor.

With the recent advent of AI in our daily lives through easily accessible models, it’s raised many concerns about its future role in our society. Whether it’s purely for pleasure and entertainment, at home in daily activities, or in our work and career, AI has the dual ability to massively improve and destroy different aspects of familiar life. Particularly interesting to me, however, is the role that AI has in music.

Rain. 
That’s me, my name is Rain. My grandmother Rose says I was named after the River of Rain, a river that flowed through the village and all the cities in the world.

In sixth grade during my first time attending the Greater San Diego Science and Engineering Fair, I shuffled between long rows of blue tables with hundreds of boards looming over me.

After my regional competitions, I was a bit disappointed with the results (x2 top ten finalist) considering that both my partner and I worked hard to get to that point. However, we made many improvements since then, and arrived at the airport eager to fly to Anaheim and compete on the state level.

On the 5th of March, 2025, an international team of researchers published a groundbreaking paper detailing how they were able to achieve what was previously only possible in legends of old and Star Wars-esque fantasies.

College essays are a strange genre of writing, in my opinion. You have to tell a story, but you have to choose and subtly tune that story in some way that aligns with vague values that a college is looking for.
