It is 1:17 AM and I have been writing the same story for the past three weeks. I am writing it right now: splayed horizontal over my bed, one knee up to support my laptop, trying to collect my thoughts, pawing at my keyboard in a half-delirious stupor.

With the recent advent of AI in our daily lives through easily accessible models, it’s raised many concerns about its future role in our society. Whether it’s purely for pleasure and entertainment, at home in daily activities, or in our work and career, AI has the dual ability to massively improve and destroy different aspects of familiar life. Particularly interesting to me, however, is the role that AI has in music.

After my regional competitions, I was a bit disappointed with the results (x2 top ten finalist) considering that both my partner and I worked hard to get to that point. However, we made many improvements since then, and arrived at the airport eager to fly to Anaheim and compete on the state level.
